Hands On High Adventure Training for Cub Scouts, Troop and Crew Leaders
September 10-12 and September 24-26, 2010 at Camp Tahuaya
Powder Horn gives participants hands on exposure to many outdoor/high adventure activities. The two-weekend Training is designed to expose Venturing and Boy Scout leaders to a wide range of high adventure activities and resources necessary to operate a successful Troop or Crew High Adventure program.

 Attention all Unit Popcorn Kernels and scouts, it's POPCORN TIME. If you plan to sell popcorn by the Show and Sell method, please plan to attend the July Roundtable to pick up materials. All Show & Sell orders are due by July 26. The traditional take order campaign will begin with a kickoff meeting on August 26 and things will be fast and furious after that. Attention all Leaders in the Bee Cave District: Mark your calendars to attend the August 12th Roundtable for a special guest speaker on ADD/ADHD, Linda Classen, M.Ed., LPC – Licensed Professional Counselor with special expertise in ADHD, Biobehavioral Disorders, and Special Education/Academic Support Programs.
She’ll talk about The ABC's of ADD: Who ARE These Kids? And WHY are They Driving Me Crazy?! Come listen, learn, and ask general questions particular to your unit’s scouts.

FRIENDS OF SCOUTING STILL NEEDS YOUR HELP |

We are still short of our 2010 Bee Cave District Friends of Scouting goal, so if you have not yet made your 2010 pledge, the easiest way to do so is online HERE. We need at least $150 in Friends of Scouting support from each scouting family in the district to fund our share of this important part of the Capital Area Council's annual budget. Not only does your contribution help to cover programming and camp operation costs, it is the primary source of funding for the ScoutReach program that makes Scouting available to underserved youth in East Austin.
