I have a friend moving into Lakeway from Ft. Worth. Their family is looking for a troop for their son who is entering 7th grade. Do you have a name of someone she can talk to in that area?

Im the Scoutmaster for Troop 52 in Lakeway. We meet at the Emmaus Catholic Parish here in Lakeway. Our Troop meetings are on Mondays at 7:00p with the exception of the Monday following a campout which is our Patrol Leaders Council (PLC). Since our boys are currently at summer camp in Chimayo NM this week this coming Monday (7/21) will be our PLC. Our next Troop meeting will be 7/28.

The other Troop in our area is Troop 441 which meets at the Lake Travis United Methodist Church on 620. They also meet on Mondays at 7:00p with the same arrangement for the Monday following a campout being their PLC.

I would encourage your friends son to visit both Troops!

Let us not forget that if a middle-school aged boy moves into Lake Travis ISD but lives in Lake Pointe or another close by neighborhood actually in Bee Cave, there is another option . . . Troop 4 meets at Westlake Bible Church and is located at Bee Caves Road and Cuernavaca. We have boys from Lake Travis ISD amongst our group and, since we are a medium-sized group, there are great opportunities for leadership. Our Scoutmaster is Martin Payne and he'd love to hear from you!
