"One Great Night of Scouting" starts February 11 PDF Print E-mail

We have restructured the monthly District Committee and Roundtable meetings to put our main focus on the Roundtable, which becomes our One Great Night of Scouting on the second Thursday of each month.

One advantage of this structure is the reinforcement to our unit leaders that there is really just one District meeting every month that is a "must attend" event- and that is the ROUNDTABLE!

All the Commissioners will be there, all the District Committee members will be there, the District Executive will be there, and other Scouters from other units will be there.  Virtually all the district leadership will be at the Roundtable and will be available for questions or discussions.  This greater attendance, and focus on a single primary monthly meeting, will enhance the opportunities to have meaningful participatory discussions in a true, Roundtable-like fashion.  It will also provide greater opportunities for numerous parallel break-out sessions at each Roundtable.

Many of the customary reports that historically have been presented at the monthly District Committee meetings will instead be reports at Roundtable, but in a more concise "brief announcement" format with a more complete written report available as a handout to those interested.  The District Committee operating sub-committee chairs will meet briefly either just before or just after the Roundtable (and at times as a breakout session), perhaps for 15-20 minutes.  Occasionally will will convene a meeting of the full committee, perhaps once per quarter.

Come see this exciting new One Great Night of Scouting format, starting with our Roundtable on February 11.
