The forums area is a community resource where you can find questions
and answers relating to Cub Scouting and Boy Scouting in the Bee Cave District of
the Capitol Area Council. The forums are
user-driven, so your behavior within the forums greatly influences the overall forum
environment. You have the ability to
make the forums enjoyable and helpful to fellow Scouters. Below are the general
guidelines as well as the rules for the forums area. It is each user’s
responsibility to read and understand the rules and guidelines of the forums.
All rules enforcement will be handled by the administrators and moderators of
the Bee Cave District forums.
We utilize volunteer moderators who are here to assist us
with the upkeep of the forums area. These moderators donate their own time to
answer questions, and assist us in keeping the forums a fun and organized place
to be. We do recognize the valuable contributions made by the forum moderators.
Users or visitors shall remain solely responsible for the content of their
messages in the Forums. The Bee Cave District is not responsible for the
content or opinions posted or sent by users in any forum. You take
responsibility for posting under your user name and use the information
provided in the forums at your own risk. The Bee Cave District reserves
the right to remove or edit content from any forum at any time and for any
reason without notice although the Bee Cave District has no duty to do so. The Bee
Cave District offers no guarantee of service or availability of the forums.
Guidelines:
All publicly displayed messages are limited to the English language. This
includes posts, titles, signatures, as well as any attachments or other forms
of public display. Due to moderation reasons, if posts are made in non-English
languages - they may be edited/removed without consent. Try your hardest to post
in the appropriate forum. At times, some threads may wander off the original
topic. Users are encouraged to use good judgment when replying to an existing
thread, as it may be better to start a new thread. The Bee Cave District is
authorized to move, remove, or modify any data submitted by you to these forums
for any reason we feel constitutes a violation of our policies, whether stated,
implied, or not. Topics are typically moved if it doesn't fit the original
forum in which the post was made.
Go easy on the quote button. You don't need to have a quote in every post you
make.
Please do not post the same topic or question in multiple forums. If you are
unsure of which forum a thread should go under, just state that in your post
and a moderator will move the thread to the correct forum. Multiple posts are
unnecessary and will be deleted.
Do not type your message in ALL CAPS, or use excessively large font sizes, as
it is considered to be "shouting" and will be edited back down to the
default size by the moderators.
Do not argue with Moderators or Administrators about the enforcement of the
rules or suspensions of users.
Rules:
1.) A user targeting another specifically to cause him or her distress,
embarrassment, unwanted attention, or other discomfort, is engaging in
harassment. The Bee Cave District will not tolerate harassment in any form, and
reminds you that such harassment interferes with the goals of this message
board. Lively discussions are encouraged, and understand that users may
disagree or hold different points of view. If you disagree with another user,
address your disagreement to the subject matter, and not the person. Personal
attacks, name-calling, or ridiculing a user based on his or her race,
nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, or other affiliation is not allowed.
Included in the definition of harassment is any direct/indirect threat to The Bee
Cave District or any related parties. Harassment
is grounds for immediate suspension/termination of a member's account.
2.) We take the "Be Polite" rule very seriously! We do not tolerate
any rudeness. Any member who is intentionally disruptive may be banned. A Scout is Kind. Know it.
Live it.
3.) Posting racist remarks will get you banned. This also goes for hate-filled
posts about ethnicity, religion, nationality, etc.
4.) No vulgar or abusive language, period. Many users do not appreciate vulgar
language. So, the less there is, the better the forums are for everyone. Users
may not post words or URLs that are censored by adding spaces, dots, or
substituting characters; or by any other means in an attempt to defeat any
censors put in place by The Bee Cave District.
5.) Pornography will not be allowed in any way, shape, or form.
6.) No advertising. Outside advertising of goods or services is not allowed,
unless pre-approved by the Bee Cave District.
7.) Trolling (posting nonsense, or attention-getting threads), for the express
purpose of disrupting a forum, causing harm, instigating attacks, or
aggravation of the members will get you banned. If you continue to re-register
accounts, we will report you to your ISP for spamming and violation of their
terms of service.
8.) DO NOT use The Bee Cave District forums as a basis for spamming or scamming
our members. We take IM/email abuse very seriously, and it will result in the
immediate removal of your membership and ban of your IP address, without
warning. The Bee Cave District may choose a legal remedy to anyone who uses its
forums as a platform for those actions.
9.) Members are permitted a maximum of one account per person. If you choose to
ignore this important restriction, all your accounts will be terminated. If you
are unsure of your account info please do not create a new account, contact the
Bee Cave District website administrators who will assist you in locating your
account information.
10.) Any posts that encourage illegal intent will be removed and the user
account will be terminated.
Please note: The Bee Cave District reserves the right to take action,
including immediate termination, against any user who, in the administrators
opinion, misuses the Bee Cave District forums or fails to abide by the rules
and terms of use, including, but not limited to all prohibited conduct
described in the forums policies.
Reporting Violations:
Report posts that are in violation of these rules, but don't abuse this
function. If you find something that offends you, that doesn’t necessarily mean
you have to report it. Just because you don't agree with a person’s views does
not mean it is violation of the rules. If you find a violation of the rules,
please send a PM to a moderator with the following information:
– URL/Location of post/topic
– Your member name
– Offender's member name
– Detailed information about the situation and/or post in question
Only legitimate rules violations will be reviewed.
