Rocket Day

Special Announcement!

Rocket Day has been delayed to December 2nd!

Why: Unfortunately the Travis County burn ban has been extended to October 18th 2023. This means we are postponing Bee Cave District Rocket Day to Dec. 2nd. So mark your calendars!!!

Alternative while you're waiting: As an alternative the Bee Caves District is suggesting your scout attend Cub Eclipse over the Pines: A Galactic Event at Tom Wooten in Bastrop  https://scoutingevent.com/564-67852

What is Rocket Day?

Rocket Day is an opportunity for packs to bring their Cubs to shoot off rockets. It is a yearly event put on in collaboration with the Bee Cave District to help our packs have fun! These are chemical engine powered rockets, typically sold in kits from a company called Estes. They will fly to a height of several hundred feet, and higher depending on how powerful of an engine you use and whether you ever want to see the rocket again.

When is it?

Rocket Day is a yearly event that usually takes place some weekend-day in October from around 9 AM to whenever we run out of rocket engines (around 11:30 AM or 12 PM)!

Does it cost anything to attend?

There is no fee for participating! The rockets themselves have a cost, of course. Some packs include these in the yearly dues, some charge separately so make sure to ask our pack for details.
