Safeguarding Youth Training

This is a friendly reminder that as we approach May 31, 2026 along with numerous, exciting summer camps and treks coming up, you are encouraged to make sure you and your units' training is current.

The Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) replaces Youth Protection Training (YPT), which will expire on 5/31/2026 regardless of completion date. SYT is a comprehensive 90‑minute online course covering updated youth protection policies and best practices.

This course is REQUIRED for overnight, camping adults and youth/adults 18-21+.

Additionally, Hazardous Weather Training is REQUIRED for Direct Contact leaders (SM/ASMs or the equivalent) though we do recommend it for everyone (expires after two years).

Training is free and available at my.scouting.org and is open to both registered and non‑registered individuals.
