The 2023 District Awards Season is CLOSED
We're ecstatic to announce that our 2023 District Awards Season is open! These awards are selected by you, our District units and members, and are for our terrific volunteers who have weathered the most this year and have been a role-model in the Scouting world whether you're new to the District or have been here from the beginning!
Bee Cave District Banquet
**Banquet will be held on January 18th at 6:00 pm at Emmaus Catholic Parish.
The cost for the event is $30/person or $300 for a table of 10.
A fajita dinner will be catered by Lupe Tortilla.
We are also in need of a Cub Scout of a Year and a Scout of the Year
Annually the Bee Cave District awards one of our Cub Scouts and Scouts with the award of Cub Scout of the Year. Please use the attached Google Form linked here for Cub of the Year and Scout of the Year to submit your nomination to our awards committee. We need all nominations by Wednesday,December 20th in order to get them registered for the 2024 Report to State that will take place on February 3rd.
Bee Cave District Award Programs
The Bee Cave District recognizes units, youth members and adult leaders throughout the year with District-level awards. We've put together this section to help keep you informed about what's going on with awards in your District, as well as a history of those who have earned recognition in the past.
The awards that the Bee Cave District manages for the benefit of its members include:
District Award of Merit
Capitol Area Council award to recognize Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature to the District
Stinger Award
Bee Cave District Award to recognize Scouters who render outstanding contributions to their Unit

Bronze Bee Award
Bee Cave District Award to recognize Scouters who render outstanding contributions to the District
Scouts of the Year
Bee Cave District Award to recognizes a Scout’s contribution and service to Scouting, Community, Church and the Bee Cave District.
One Scout and one Cub Scout may be recognized each year.
Important Note: the recipients of the Scouts of the Year award in 2023 will represent our Council at Report to State!

The Capitol Area Council is seeking nominations for Council-level awards for 2023. All Council award nominations are due by January 10, 2024 - CAC extended it, see info here.
Silver Beaver Award
Council award for distinguished service at the Council-level.

Whitney M. Young Award
Council award for outstanding service by an adult or organization for involvement in the development and implementation of Scouting opportunities for youth from rural or low-income urban backgrounds.

William H. Spurgeon III Award
Council award is the highest recognition for individuals or organizations contributing significant leadership to the Exploring program.

¡Scouting...Vale la Pena! Award
Council award to recognize outstanding service by an adult or organization for demonstrated involvement in the development and implementation of Scouting opportunities for Hispanic/Latino youth.

Venturing Leadership Award
This award is made to a limited number of youth leaders who provide exceptional service to the Venturing program. It is presented at a separate Venturing ceremony.

Sea Scout Leadership Award
The Sea Scout Leadership Award is presented by councils, areas, regions, and the BSA National Council to Sea Scouts and Sea Scouters who have made exceptional contributions to Sea Scouting and who exemplify the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Torch of Gold Award
This award recognizes individuals who have provided outstanding service in the area of Scouts with special needs. It is presented to both youth and adult members.

Elbert K. Fretwell Outstanding Educator Award
This award is presented to teachers, educational support staff and school administrators who instill Scouting values in their students. It recognizes a person’s work for students in his or her professional role — not for what the person does directly for Scouting.
