IOLS Training at Camporee! - April 2023
Bee Cave District is happy to announce that it will offer IOLS (Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills) to a maximum of 20 adult attendees of its Bee Cave District Camporee on April 28-30, 2023, at Smilin' V Ranch. This course is necessary to become fully trained as either a Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster to serve your units. Topics covered will include outdoor skills for camping, cooking, packing, hiking, woods tools, knots, lashings, flag ceremonies, and interfaith service. The course will begin at 8:00 am on Saturday, April 29, and continue through approximately 11:00 am on Sunday, April 30. Participants should come prepared for an overnight stay. You will be camping separately from your units and will be unavailable the entire time to the rest of your unit team. You must attend the entire course to receive credit. Step-By-Step Guide to Becoming a "Trained" Leader for your Position
Go to My.Scouting (https://my.scouting.org)
Login using the same login you use for YPT and other training
Once logged in, click on “Menu” and when the menu pops up, click on “My Training”
You will see the status of your YPT at the top and down below there should be a section with tiles for various training options labeled as “Training Courses by Program”
NOTE: you can also view your "Completions" to confirm your training record! If you don't see something you completed, reach out to Sam Francis, District Training Chair at sfrancis1@austin.rr.com
If you are a Cub Leader, click on the tile that says “Cub Scouting”; you will find course options for the Pack position training; select the one that applies to you and take the course (this is where you will find the training modules for Pack Committee members, Cubmasters, and Den Leaders)
If you are a Scouts BSA leader, click on the tile that says “Scouts BSA”; you will find course options for the Scout position training; select the one that applies to you and take the course (this is where you will find the training modules for Merit Badge Counselors and Committee members)
If you are a Charter Organization Representative, click on the tile that says “Position Specific Training”; you will find various course options; select the one for Charter Organization Representative and take the course
